- Assertive
Assertive communication is behavior that allows you to:
- Express your feelings comfortably.
- Be direct and straightforward.
- Exercise personal rights without denying the rights of others or experiencing
undue anxiety or guilt.
You will learn how to:
- Identify passive, aggressive, and assertive behavior.
- Identify areas in which you have difficulty being assertive.
- Express yourself assertively in situations where you:
- Set limits on how others treat you.
- Give and receive compliments.
- Deal with criticism.
- Start and maintain conversations.
- Handle putdowns.
- Deal with anger.
- Assert yourself in the working world.
