We all negotiate every day and spend a great deal of our time trying
to reach agreement with others.
Negotiation is a problem-solving process that involves exchanging ideas
to reach an agreement acceptable to all parties.
Skilled negotiators solve complicated situations with minimum stress
and maximum support.
You will learn how to:
- Understand and break through barriers to effective communication.
- Present your ideas and express your viewpoint effectively.
- Listen so that others are satisfied that you understand their point
of view.
- Read and use verbal and nonverbal cues.
- Resolve conflict without destroying relationships.
- Allow all parties involved in a negotiation to state their feelings
and opinions fully in an atmosphere of respect, understanding, caring,
and fairness.
- Work together to achieve understanding and create options that will
satisfy all parties.
